Another successful roadtrip is in the books!
7 People, 6 Days, 3 Points of Destination, 1 Suburban
Leg 1: Irving, Texas to Boyce, Lousiana - 300 Miles
The first leg of the trip took us to Boyce, Louisiana where we crashed the night with an aunt of mine. What a great first leg! Free rooms and homemade food, a perfect start to our trip. We were able to walk to the Red River in just about 2 minutes time and there was enough yard to play volleyball, football, and whatever else the group wanted to do to stretch out. Being able to visit with my aunt, cousin, and her husband and kids were an added welcome bonus.
Leg 2: Boyce to New Orleans - 200 Miles
This leg to us into where we would be focusing our work efforts for the trip. A huge thank you to The Jesus Project for once again lettings us partner up next to them. For their 2015 Christmas Party we were able to give presents to about 350 amazing kids! We also took part in feeding people from the neighborhood nacho's and hot dogs. If you are looking for a ministry to donate your efforts to or to donate money to, this is the one! Please check them out! http://www.jesusprojectministries.com/
Leg 3: New Orleans, Louisiana to Oxford, Mississippi - 350 Miles
This is what should have been the most relaxed leg of the trip. But, we can't seem to leave well enough alone. With in the 2 days we were in Oxford we managed to squeeze in time to eat at the best pizza place in Mississippi (Old Venice Pizza Company), we saw the new Star Wars movie, visiting with old friends, had a bonfire, and had a roll over accident in a TrailWagon (everyone is ok now). It was nonstop fun to say the least!
Leg 4: Oxford, Mississippi to Irving, Texas - 550 miles
Good food, good fellowship, a 2 hour delay in traffic due to a wreck on the highway...but we made it home safely! Another successful roadtrip is over and done with!
